Re: Introductions
rebecca,
, January 17, 2011.
I am Rebecca Court, age 53, presently living in Surrey UK but have lived variously in France, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Thailand and Australia. In between roles at the moment I am running computer courses on a volunteer basis for the "Silver Surfer" age-group: 70+ who are more frightened of technology than I am! With 4 children age 17-24, I am daily reminded that, although I have learned and taught a few languages and am fairly musical, without IT skills I am nowhere. So as well as the intriguing discussions I hope to participate in I also hope I'll overcome barriers to tweets and blogs etc. [Comment]

This is my worry too. There are so many interesting people out there all doing fascinating work - which makes mine seem not so. I don't blog or tweet so these are learning curves I'm not sure I can cope with as well as trying to understand the course content! [Comment]
A first foray into a MOOC
rebecca,
1093 - [Leitha] delves into eLearning, January 19, 2011.
This tends to be my position too: despite a wealth of experience in a variety of fields - or maybe because of it - I assume others to have greater, indepth knowledge. Jumping in at the deep end is sometimes the only way to go and you surprise yourself when you find yourself swimming along with everyone else! Good luck! [Comment]
